Spawning from San Diego’s premier singer/songwriter venue, Java Joe’s with the likes of Jewel and Jason Mraz and described as McCartney & John Mayer meet Neil Young & Ryan Adams at a Jimmy Buffett concert, Christopher Dale mixes his many influences together to form one uniquely catchy artist. Whether he’s performing solo or with his back up band, Dale intoxicates listeners with his honesty, heart and sheer energy, as he tours both nationally and internationally. Coupled with a commanding stage presence, humorous trademark banter and his desire to connect with the audience, each Dale live performance creates a lasting musical memory.
With respect to such honors as singing the National Anthem for the Independence Day celebration at Dodger Stadium, performing at the Official American Music Awards after-party and garnering 11 San Diego Music Award nominations, it is Dale’s lasting connection with his listeners, that best defines him as an artist. One female fan from Ohio went as far as riding a unicycle two miles, in rush hour traffic, to the station of the #1 morning radio show and hijacked an hour of live airtime plugging the music of her favorite singer/songwriter, resulting in a record-breaking day of internet CD sales!
Realizing the important role music played in his own childhood, Dale strives to reach children and share with them the same gift. At home, and on the road, he periodically visits local elementary schools to play his acoustic guitar and sing in the classroom. The desire to help kids and to support his community also keeps him involved with various charitable events, as well as a dedicated fundraiser/ambassador for Smile Train, a global organization that provides 100%-Free, cleft surgeries to children in need.
Chris’ songwriting style and remarkable vocal range have pushed him beyond his homegrown boundaries and into the hearts of people worldwide. Critically acclaimed CD releases, and countless shows continue to fuel the full-time schedule of this Traveling Troubadour. Always willing to share the spot light, his local and recurring Christopher Dale & Friends shows wraps his passionate love affair with his craft, the audience and his various peers, around you like a big group hug. On occasion, you might even find his mom on stage next to him, at The Beachcomber dive bar, where he got his start, singing along while she simultaneously makes you free pancakes. Love & Music!
