Lauryn GouldGrowing up in a musical family, Lauryn developed her ear and passion for music at a young age. Music was always an integral part of family life, and guitar, piano, and voice were her first instruments. In addition to participation in the high school wind and jazz bands, she enjoyed the support of a family who played music together – touring the country and performing in the summers – and developed the skill of playing by ear, and in an ensemble.
Lauryn’s musical interests encompass many genres and she strives to pursue a diverse performance schedule, as well as to apply a broad and open approach to teaching.Lauryn Gould Lauryn holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University with completion of the University Honors Program, and an MA in Community Music from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland.
In addition to the great fortune of living and learning among some of the brightest and most generous musicians who call Austin, TX home, Lauryn has studied flute with Adah Toland Jones, Irish flute with Conor Crimmins, saxophone with Doug Skinner, piano with Owen Lovell and Floyd Domino, jazz improvisation with Morris Nelms and Freddie Mendoza, voice with Kellye Gray, and she learned to play the guitar from her dad, Rick Steinburg.
