Terry J Lev, artist, mom, wife, retired CalPERS employee, sister, friend, gardener, photographer and wanna be musician! Sacramento native, currently residing in downtown Sacramento in a big 1920’s house with bass playin” husband, Joe Lev. Blessed with two very wonderful grown children, one semi neurotic dog and one grand-dogger (my daughters dog).
Creativity has always been there. At a very young age learned to sew and made clothing, dolls and lots of costumes. Loved Photography for years, capturing that moment in time. Contributing writer for newsletters, designed CD covers, fliers, cards and brochures.
I learned to play the Piano as a child, Flute as a tween, Guitar and Keyboard as a teenager, as an adult, Ukulele and now the Zydeco Rubboard!
I began painting several years ago when I became overwhelmed with an urge to paint, couldn’t help myself… I was obsessed and just had to paint! Typically using acrylics; my art is whimsical, very colorful, bold and fun. I am heavily folk art inspired. I love the magic of the natural world, the ocean, the moon, and the clash of a city landscape. Painting musicians comes from my love of watching my hubby Joe making beautiful music. Vibrant fat ladies come from life experience, and a belief that curves are beautiful! I’m often inspired by something small, an object, a shadow, a reflection, spiced up with a lively imagination and wacky sense of humor. I hope you enjoy. Be well, be creative! Tj. ?.
