I took piano lessons at age 5 or 6.I took lessons as an adult also.I learned to play flute in 6th Grade. My first major accomplishment in Music was winning Best Beginning Woodwind at McChesney Junior High, in Oakland, California in the summer of my 6th Grade year. The second big thing that happened to me is my parents gave me private lessons from Elena Duran, one of the greatest flautist in the world. She gave me the technique to live out my dream. After High School I played for a best friends wedding and it was there that I set my eyes on a third big thing. I wanted to return to school for either an AA or a Minor in Music.I wanted to accomplish this while being a classroom teacher. By 2009, I achieved that goal. Now that I am in a new phase of my life, I have new goals. One of them is to work on a video. In 2015, I collaborated with Kellie Rivers from Starnow on a song called “Earth Day”. It was my first song on YouTube.RAWartist gave me a reason to take my music to the next level. At a RAWartist interview I said, I will have an album called, “The Best of Kelesha Martin”. Well, I was not too far off. I tried something totally new on my latest album. I am the producder. The good news is you can hear it soon. My next album “Love Notes” will be released in August 2018.
