Ken Totushek is an internationally known singer/songwriter, acoustic instrumentalist and worship leader, with six acclaimed CDs of inspirational work since 1994. Playing guitar since his teen years, Ken has performed in Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and throughout the U.S. Ken defines himself as a musician living and sharing “freedom Songs”. His music is down to earth, inviting, and tends to capture the heart of the listener as he leads one through a calming and hope filled musical journey. Ken plays venues worldwide, in which he shares and performs aspects of his own life and spiritual journey. Venues have ranged from concerts and special music, house concerts, hospitals, restaurants and pubs to leading worship at international church services and conferences. Along with music, Ken continually studies the impact of guitar construction, woods used, age, playing style, etc. on tone, inspiration, mood, and spiritual connection. Ken writes and plays his own compositions, as well as those of others. He engineers his own work at Graceworks Recording, his digital recording studio. “I believe whatever I do musically is a gift from God. When I play, I feel I am offering back to Him and to others a gift generously given which miraculously transcends the physical.” Ken’s musical theme has to do with real stuff of life—those life experiences which mold and shape who we really are, good and bad, easy and hard. A message of unfettered hope in the midst of life’s pain and joys is woven throughout all of Ken’s music. He values highly his faith, his family, and his friends. In September of 2013 Ken was awarded Japan’s Kansai Music Conference “Building Bridges Through Music” Award. Ken’s latest CD “Real Life Stuff-Hope’s Alive,” is a 2 CD volume of original and cover songs and instrumentals–released in 2013. The CD contains a variety of primarily acoustic music. Ken resides with his wife Kathy in both Barrington, RI and Arlington, VA.
