Sentidos Dance

Sentidos DanceSentidos is a project-based contemporary dance company founded by Taimy Miranda and Joan Rodriguez in 2017. Based in Arizona, the company generates new work in highly collaborative processes for both proscenium theatres and non-conventional performance spaces. The work of Sentidos seeks to deepen the relationship between art and community by sharing emotionally impactful and physically virtuosic dance. Taimy & Joan’s first collaboration as Sentidos was with artist Saskia Jordá and her installation Cacerolazo, which debuted in December 2017 at the Phoenix Art Museum.
Taimy and Joan joined contemporary-Latin group Stilo Dance as artistic directors in 2017, and later that year were part of the creative process of Paseo, a new production that was performed at The Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. The same year, they participated in the BlakTina Dance Festival in Phoenix and Los Angeles with RISE and SHINE, a duet they choreographed and performed together. Following the success of Sentidos DancePaseo and RISE and SHINE, Taimy and Joan have been invited to be guest artists in residency at the ASU School of Film, Dance and Theatre.
