Dan DelaneyDan Delaney Originally from Boston with over 3 decades of experience and commendable achievements has been recognized as an entrepreneur, professional pianist, author and extremely dedicated and innovative teacher of piano and jazz improvisation. After attending Berklee College of Music in 1975 Dan studied extensively with notable East Coast Jazz greats, Paul Schmeling, Dick Odgren, Harvey Diamond and the legendary Charlie Banacos. He stayed very active in the jazz scene wile in Boston. In 1989 Dan was acknowledged by Keyboard Magazine, elevation and other media publications acknowledging him as a pioneer in teaching, claiming credits as one of the first in the world to teach piano by video correspondence.
Through the years Dan has performed with many notable jazz healliners. While living in Phoenix, Dan was highly respected on the faculty of 2 area Colleges. In 2007 he had the great pleasure to appear on a special recording project entitled “hoe nix” a tribute to the great Cannonball Adderley. Led by jazz sax player Chris Stewart the quintet featured well-known and respected Phoenix musicians and was well received while gaining impressive billboard status. Dan now resides in Cave Creek Az where he remains committed to his teaching and continues to perform regularly. His dedication and yearsDan Delaney of experience have helped him refine and develop a comprehensive and unique method for teaching piano and jazz improvisation, which he now offers via SKYPE and his Personalized Video Correspondence.
Dan is proud to be part of the Earthworks (Professional Microphones) ARTISTS group to help support such a wonderful product. Dan continues to use the PMT40 piano mic on his instructional videos and live performances.
