Melody Pittman & Taylor Pittman Hardy

Melody Pittman & Taylor Pittman HardyMelody Pittman
I am Melody Pittman, originally from Charleston, West Virginia, transplanted to sunny Vero Beach, Florida. I live here with my husband Eddie, daughter Peyton, and Harlow Kitty. My daughter and blog partner Taylor, son-in-law Blake, and our shared dog Priscilla live in Jackson, Mississippi, though they occupy my guest room at least one week a month. After 20 years with CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield and four years owning/managing/operating my own cafeterias and catering business, my husband and I semi-retired to the South. We also live part-time in the mountains of Boquete, Panama in one of the houses we built at Boquete Gardens. Blogging came at the perfect time in my life: I had just moved across the country, closed my business, was experiencing empty nester syndrome since both girls were away at college, plus my husband was mostly in Panama working. I was at a crossroads in my life and ready for something new. Blogging combined all of the things that I like: photography, travel, social media, history, food, and writing. I am so glad to have found something that I am passionate about and feel incredibly lucky to share my experiences with you. I hope that you will like following along with my adventures in this new chapter of life.

Taylor Pittman Hardy
My name is Taylor Pittman Hardy and I am Melody’s oldest and favorite daughter (she did not verify this). I am proud to be from Charleston, West Virginia and I will always be a Mountaineer at heart. College took me to Mississippi and I had the very best experience at Ole Miss. It has become my home away from home and I will always cherish my time spent in Oxford. Most recently, my husband, Blake, and I bought a house in Brandon, Mississippi, a small town twenty minutes from Jackson. When we are not on vacation, I like to catch up on all of my shows (TiVo was such a great invention), bake, shop, coupon, craft, and listen to The Highway on Sirius XM. I spent my childhood traveling the globe with my family and vividly remember one summer where my suitcase was never unpacked; we were gone that much. When we were at home, my sister, Peyton, and I would help out at our Dad’s vending company (stickering candy for the machines back in the day) and at Melody’s catering facility (twice she had us serve food in the middle of a minefield).
I am excited to have joined my mom on her blogging journey and I am looking forward to sharing my traveling experiences with you.
