Katy Wong

Katy Wong is a harpist at The Juilliard School studying with New York Philharmonic principal Nancy Allen. Her experiences include performing at New York Fashion Week three times — for Katy Perry at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party (NYFW SS’16) and Swedish designer Stephen F.’s SS’15 & AW’16 Collections. Katy has been featured in Vogue Magazine and on NBC’s multimedia platforms. Katy has had the privilege of performing for the U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao and former New Jersey representative Charlotte Vandervalk. Other performance highlights include the wedding of NFL player Devon Still at the New York Public Library and the Video Games Live concert series tour. Other venues at which Katy has performed at include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockefeller Center, The Plaza Hotel, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Through her studies, Katy has traveled internationally to perform with prestigious orchestras. Katy joined the 2015 National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) on their first Asia tour — a seven-city concert series across China. In 2014, she was selected to perform at the World Harp Congress in Sydney, Australia on behalf of the Focus on Youth Committee.
As an artist entrepreneur, Katy has been invited as a guest speaker at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Montclair State University and interviewed in the iTunes podcast The Tao of Self-Confidence and NBC Asian America’s Feature Story. As an advocate for educational outreach, Katy is a harp instructor for young harpists ages 4-18 through the Paramus Community Music Program and former recipient of the Gluck Community Service Fellowship. She is a current recipient of the Libbey Davis and Genevieve Hustead Scholarships and involved in the Hire Juilliard Performers program. Her performances have won her recognitions such as 1st place in the Emerging Artists Division of the International Young Artist’s Harp Competition (USA), 2nd place in the Advanced Division of the Nippon International Harp Competition (JP) and finalist in the Anne Adams Awards Competition. For the past two summers, Katy was selected to attend the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School. As a former competitive figure skater, Katy enjoys coaching at Wollman Rink in New York City’s Central Park. Her recent skating and harp film Heart Strings was featured in NYC’s 2018 Popup Film Festival and selected as an official finalist in the 2018 Katra Film Series — Sidebar Edition. Katy is represented by Elan Artists Entertainment Agency in New York, NY. She currently maintains a private harp studio in Bergen County, NJ and studies at The Juilliard School in New York, NY.
