A diverse and active musician based out of New Orleans, LA, trombone is the main vehicle for his musical expression. Evan is well versed in many musical styles, with the key ingredient of soul present in each. Brass Lightning is the horn section/band in which Evan resides in harmony. He is also working on his own record due out next year, which is a culmination of songs written over the past 5 years and pressure cooked by the feeling of New Orleans. He also tours and performs with Nola-based acts Sexual Thunder and Miss Mojo regularly. Evan has toured/recorded/performed with O.A.R., Allen Stone, Elle King, Billie Davies, Mike Dillon, Wyclef Jean, Eric Krasno, Phillip Phillips, Spoon, Rashawn Ross, Jeff Coffin, Andrew McMahon, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, DJ Logic, Mary Wilson, Kelley James, Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Mojoflo, G. Finesse, The Beethoven Found Philharmonic Orchestra, Dierks Bentley, Soja, Cris Cab, and Walk the Moon, and more. He has opened for national acts including Dave Matthews Band, Trombone Shorty, and the Dynamites feat. Charles Walker. On the producing side, Evan has produced Morgan Treni’s colorful record, ‘Alphabet City,’ (2018) & Sheldon Whiteside’s dynamic EP, ‘All For You’ (2014). He has two records of original material, the hiphop driven “Here” from EOP, and the jazz oriented “May Your Vice Be Nice” by RFG Quintet. Evan was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, playing piano and guitar at an early age. In 5th grade he picked up the trombone for the school band. In high school his musicality led him to participate in multiple jazz ensembles, including the acclaimed Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra. Evan graduated in June 2009 from Ohio State University with a degree in Jazz Studies performance. Evan is an endorsing BAC Custom Horn artist, uses JH Audio In-Ear Monitors, and plays with an AMT P808 microphone.
