Melanie Giolitti

Melanie GiolittiMelanie Giolitti is an accomplished interior designer with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry and a lifetime passion for interior design and architecture. She received her degree in Interior Design from California State University, Fresno and is an Allied-Member of the American Society of Interior Designers-ASID, the profession’s leading association. Melanie’s appreciation for architecture and fine design began with a trip to Europe at an early age; this inspiration has been continually renewed, both through her professional practice and extensive travel, including many trips abroad. These experiences have given Melanie an intuitive understanding of timeless building and the subtle details which make the best living spaces beautiful and gracious as well as personal and intimate.
Following college, Melanie began her professional career at Ponderosa Homes, a high-end homebuilder in the San Francisco Bay Area. She served as their in-house interior designer, assisting clients with finish materials and interior design services and ensuring that their new homes were completed to exacting specifications and included all the personal touches they required. Her collaborative work with the staff architect atMelanie Giolitti Ponderosa Homes resulted in several of the projects receiving awards for excellence in design. In 1996 she relocated to the Monterey Peninsula and was brought on board at Eric Miller Architects to create a full service interior design department. Early in the department’s development she saw a need for greater collaboration between the architecture and interior design departments in order to provide clients with comprehensive service and seamless designs.
The partnership between the two disciplines was very successful and her clients benefited greatly from her collaborative approach. Her services there included interior design, specifications and detailing for the interior finishes and a thorough development of the interior architecture as well as custom furniture pieces and lighting. Throughout her career, Melanie has worked in many different aspects of the interior design field. Through her work she has gained an extensive knowledge of fine design and home furnishings as well as a love for both antiques and textiles.
