Jewelry designer, blacksmith and fabricator, Tasha Rae is all about the creative journey — exploration, experimentation and discovery. Tasha is inspired by old world traditions mixed with contemporary themes and a persistent desire to create timeless accessories that convey confidence, uniqueness and style. Tasha Rae jewelry is a one-woman business and each piece is handmade by Tasha in her studio.
Born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin, Tasha Rae Tatro’s passion for jewelry developed young while spending hours scavenging through her grandmother’s jewelry chest. Tasha attended the University of Wisconsin Madison to pursue a degree in engineering and physics and eventually found herself involved in the arts. She graduated with a degree in graphic design but had discovered her true love in art metals. After graduation Tasha traveled throughout parts of Europe and became inspired by their classic and elegant structures. While living and working in Ireland, Tasha had the opportunity to meet master gold-smiths and the dream of someday having her own business began. In 2003 Tasha Rae Jewelry began and Tasha slowly acquired new techniques along with her own studio and tools along the way. Since then Tasha has studied at haystack School of Craft and the Howard Academy of Metal Arts where she received a certificate in both blacksmithing and goldsmithing. She has lived and worked in Minneapolis, MN, San Diego, CA, and has recently moved her studio and storefront to the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI.
