Bethany Schultz

Bethany Schultz is a clarinetist and saxophonist residing in Madison, Wisconsin. She is currently on faculty at Maranatha Baptist University as well as Madison Country Day School. Bethany is a founding member of the woodwind quintet, Black Marigold, which performs regularly throughout southern Wisconsin.
In addition to Black Marigold performances Bethany has been featured as a guest soloist performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with the Lake Geneva Symphony (2011) and has also performed with the Madison Symphony, Kenosha Symphony, Madison Savoyards, Madison Youth Choirs, and the Capitol City Band, among others. As a teacher, Bethany maintains a large studio of private clarinet and saxophone students of all ages and levels. Her students are members of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras, WSMA middle and high school honor bands and orchestras, and Winds of Wisconsin. Bethany’s students have been recipients of Exemplary Soloist Awards at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival as well as the UW-Madison Summer Music Clinic Tuition Remission Scholarship. She has been a guest clinician at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the UW-Madison Summer Music Clinic and is sought after to teach masterclasses to high school and middle school students throughout southern Wisconsin. Bethany holds a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from Arizona State University and a Master of Music degree in performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her principal teachers include Robert Spring and Linda Bartley. In addition to her university studies, Bethany spent two summers studying at the Belgian Clarinet Academy with Luis Rossi, Eddy Vanoosthuyse and Howard Klug.
