Greg Bowers

Greg Bowers is a pianist, composer, arranger and recording artist. Greg discovered his talent for playing piano at the age of four. Encouraged by his parents, both performing artists, he studied classical piano at the Wasson Piano Institute and won awards in classical piano competitions. He studied jazz performance, arranging and composition with David Loeb, Director of Jazz Studies, UNLV, Frank Pazulo, Professor of Jazz Studies, Ball State, Frank Vincent, College Conservatory of Music, UC, and Grammy award winner Bill Cunliffe.
Greg began his performance career touring with rhythm and blues and contemporary jazz bands and as a soloist. He crafted a soulful, expressive style of playing, mastered a repertoire of many genres and gained notoriety as a dynamic artist and performer.
Greg toured extensively as a soloist and with his own ensembles performing at many prestigious venues worldwide. Greg has performed more than two thousand events, many for world renowned celebrities.
Greg recorded Alone Together, a twelve-song solo album for Yamaha Music. The Greg Bowers Trio recorded the album Bye Bye Blackbird. Both feature jazz and Brazilian standards. Alone Together includes two Broadway selections. His next album will be Clear Skies, a collection of Greg’s own contemporary jazz compositions.
Greg’s style is influenced by pianists Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Hank Jones, Herbie Hancock, Chic Corea, Ahmad Jamal and McCoy Tyner.
