John Rollins

 

John Rollins is an attorney and award winning photographer from Kansas City, MO. His photographic emphasis is nature and wildlife. He was a finalist in National Geographic’s prestigious Travel Photographer of the Year Competition in 2016. He was named one of the “World’s Top Eight Travel Photographers” in 2016 by the Sydney Morning Herald Traveller (www.traveller.com.au/the-best-travel-photography-gr47vt ). He was named one of the Top 10 Travel Photographers in the World in 2016 by www.top10travel.online (top10travel.online/top-10-travel-photographers-2016/). He was the 2014-15 grand prize winner of the Galapagos Conservancy Photo Contest and his photo of a Yellow Crowned Night Heron was the cover of the Galapagos Conservancy’s 2015 Calendar. His unique image of a mother polar bear and her yearling cub on an iceberg frozen into the sea ice in the Arctic received an Honorable Mention in the Nature category of the 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Competition (?travel.nationalgeographic.com/photographer-of-the-year-2016/gallery/winners-all/1), was a National Geographic “Top Shot” in 2016, was featured in the National Geographic story “Pristine Seas” (yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/stories/pristine-seas/) and received an “Honorable Mention” in the International Photography Awards in the Nature/Landscape category. He has had a number of photos chosen for National Geographic “Daily Dozen” honors. His image of the elusive Shoebill Stork was an “Audubon Top 100” photograph in 2015.
