Erin Gilmore

Erin Gilmore is a dramatic soprano whose roots are in the beautiful Flint Hills of Kansas. Ms. Gilmore’s performances have been praised by clinicians for her ability to deliver the emotion and beauty of opera to the audience for whom she performs. Since moving to the Kansas City Area in 2012 she has been as artist with the American Opera Studio performing art songs and arias in the performances of Broadway In the Garden and The Annual Passport Series, as well as additional solo engagements around the Kansas City Metro. Most recently she premiered a new song cycle by composer Anna Brake, entitled Songs of The Spanish Civil War.
Other accomplishments include performing the role of Miss Jessel in the Red River Lyric Opera Summer Festival production of The Turn of the Screw, Nursemaid in Street Scene at the University of Kansas and being a 2012 and 2013 Honors Recital semi-finalist at Emporia State University. A current student of Dr. Bill Hall, she has studied previously with Dr. Penelope Speedie and Dr. Kenneth Prewitt. Ms. Gilmore has her Masters in Music Vocal Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Music from Emporia State University. She has been Druid City Opera Workshop Young Artist and Red River Lyric Opera Young Artist. Currently resides in Kansas City MO, where she works as the soprano section leader at John Knox Kirk Presbyterian Church and is pursing a second Masters in Musicology at The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.
