Aaron S. Hill, (1992) hails from Troy, Missouri. Currently, he studies Music Composition at the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he also studies voice (countertenor/male soprano). Mr. Hill has had the opportunity to work with many organizations and ensembles. Among those included are the St. Charles Community College Symphonic Orchestra and Opera Workshop (2013/2014), the UMKC Dance Department (2015), Lyric Opera of Kansas City (Words + Music Showcase, 2015-’17), and the New Words//New Music collaboration project (2016). His pieces have been performed at the 2015 and ’16 KC Fringe Festivals, the Exchange of Midwestern Collegiate Composers (University of Idaho, 2015), the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival (France, 2016), and by the Outlaw Quintet (Tuscan, AZ). In June 2017, he participated in the St. Louis ?48 Hour Film Festival. ?The film, ?CUT?, won several awards and the score was nominated for “Best Musical Score.” Most recently, Mr. Hill won third place in the Abundant Silence Composition Competition for his piece, Forest Rituals, which will, as of January 2018, be published. Mr. Hill served as the Officer of Media and Promotions for the UMKC Composers Guild for the ’17-18 year, has sat on the Board of Directors for the Gateway Festival Orchestra of St. Louis , serving as Chair of the Programming and Social Media Committee (2014-15), and member of the Marketing and Development Committee. Mr. Hill is also an alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha-Pi Zeta chapter.
