Chintimini Brass

Chintimini BrassChintimini Brass is the premier professional brass ensemble in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The Chintimini Brass are named after “Chintimini” – the Calapooia Indian name for the highest peak in Oregon’s Coastal Range Mountains aka Mary’s Peak. The members of Chintimini Brass frequently perform throughout the Willamette Valley where the mountain peak is a dominant landmark. The Chintimini Brass is available to bring a touch of class to your Oregon wedding, winery, private party, church, music festival, or corporate event. Larger music ensembles and soloists are also available.
David Campbell
(Trumpet)
David Campbell is a freelance professional musician living in Philomath, Oregon (Corvallis, OR). David is equally at home performing in classical and jazz styles. David particularly enjoys performing in brass quintet, chamber music ensembles, and theater pit orchestras because of the broad range of musical styles and collaborative ensemble work that is required.
David holds degrees in Trumpet Performance, Music Education and Conducting. In addition to being a freelance trumpet player, conductor, and music educator, David is a successful real estate investment advisor at Hassle-Free Cashflow Investing and the manager of Westwood Creek Farm – a cattle ranch, hay farm, and fruit orchard in Philomath, Oregon. David is available for solo and ensemble performing and conducting opportunities throughout Oregon and California.
Mark Rasmussen
(Trumpet)
Mark Rasmussen is a freelance trumpet player living in Philomath, OR and enjoys playing all styles of music. He and his wife Katie own and operate The Windsmith, a musical instrument repair business working in conjunction with Gracewinds music in Corvallis, OR. They relocated to the Willamette Valley in 2015 from Steamboat Springs, CO.
While there Mark performed with the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, Emerald City Opera, Steamboat Swings Big Band, Caliente Afro Cuban band, and various other ensembles. He also founded and conducted the Routt County Community Band and taught music at the North Routt Community Charter School and Strawberry Park elementary. Prior to CO he and his wife lived in San Diego, CA where they began the Windsmith in 1999. While there he performed in many musical settings and he and Katie also founded and performed with the San Diego Wind Ensemble. Mark has been fortunate to study trumpet with Claude Gordon, John Wilds, Fred Sautter, and David Burkhart.Chintimini Brass
David Sorenson
(Horn)
David Sorenson, French horn, is co-principal horn in the OSU-Corvallis Symphony orchestra where he manages the section and has been a member since 1989. David enjoys playing in various groups throughout the Willamette Valley including the Corvallis Community Band, a local Horn ensemble and the Willamette Valley Concert band (conducted for 40+ years by the one and only Dr. Richard Sorenson – Dave’s dad).
In his other life, David is a Systems Automation Specialist at CH2M HILL where he has worked for 21 years and organizes his office’s very own holiday band.
Brian Wilson
(Trombone)
Brian received his B.A. in Music from Portland State University. His principal teachers were Alan Pierce, Marc Wolters, John Trudeau, Warren Baker and H. Dennis Smith. He has played in numerous musical organizations over the years including the Peter Britt Music Festival, Salem Chamber Orchestra, Willamette Master Chorus, Festival Choral Oregon, Salem Concert Band, Salem Big Band and the American Metropole Orchestra.
He worked many years as operations manager at Blue Heron Farm in Independence and is currently a software design engineer at Hewlett-Packard Company.
Isaac Andrews
(Tuba)
Isaac Andrew is an adjunct instructor of tuba and euphonium at Oregon State University. He also serves as director of bands at South Albany High School and Calapooia Middle School in Albany, Oregon, where he directs jazz, concert, and beginning band.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Music in tuba performance and music education from Azusa Pacific University and a Master Woodbridgeof Music in tuba performance from California State University, Long Beach.
Andrew freelanced on tuba extensively in the Los Angeles area, performing a variety of styles including classical, jazz, Mexican banda and bluegrass. He has conducted youth orchestras, jazz bands, and wind bands in the United States and abroad. He is currently a regular performer on tuba and bass in a variety of local ensembles including Opus 7 Jazz Combo, the Isaac Andrew Freaktet, area symphonies, and other instrumental groups.
He is on the sub list for the Oregon Symphony, Eugene Symphony, Newport Symphony, and the Britt Festival. Isaac resides in Albany, Oregon with his wonderful wife and two children.
