Breezy Anderson, a self taught and Oregon based metal sculptor, has been working and honing her skills as a full time artist since 2012. Using metal, Breezy sculpts expressive, lifelike and life size figures creating three dimension in a space that can be imagined. Her works prove the strength and beauty of the human form, while showing equal deconstruction and deterioration. Her work is an attempt to transform ordinary matter into something extraordinary. Breezy’s work is widely collected both nationally and internationally. Committed to creating Public Sculpture, Breezy has successfully installed large scale works with the belief that Public Art inspires us to dream and delve into unknown spaces.
I create figurative sculptures inspired by memory, movement and time. My work is an attempt to transform ordinary matter into something extraordinary. To bridge the conceptual realm to the material world. These works are metaphors for the vulnerability and mortality of one’s physical body. To achieve this I use stainless steel and mild steel because of their unmoving strength. I focus on the fortitude, power and beauty of the human form. Constructing a sculpture allows me to express what words cannot.
