Matt Hybarger is celebrating over 30 years of music and concert ministry with notable artists such as Gary McSpadden, Steve Archer, Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins, Sandi Patty, Dallas Holm, Michael O’Brien, Scott Krippayne, Allen Asbury, Audio Adrenaline, Benny Hester, Michael English, David Meece, Benjamin Orr (Cars) , Clay Crosse, Rick Cua, David & The Giants, Benny Hester, The Imperials, 4Him, Bruce Carroll, Jessy Dixon, Ricky Lynn Gregg, Terri Gibbs, Billy Sprague, Rob Frazier, and many others. In addition, Matt twice played the lead role of Jesus in the touring company of the classic musical, Godspell. Matt is probably best known for the When Life Gets Broken project which yielded three Top 10 singles, “When Life Gets Broken” (#6) (featuring Russ Lee & Michael O’Brien) and “Never Alone” (with Kellye Huff) (#9) as well as his signature ballad “Run To His Arms” (#9) which spent 256 weeks on Christian Music’s Inspirational Chart. When Life Gets Broken written by Hybarger & former Newsong frontman Michael O’Brien, was also recorded by GRAMMY and DOVE AWARD WINNER SANDI PATTY and founding Point of Grace member HEATHER PAYNE and released as the first single from Sandi’s Dove Award winning CD, The Edge of The Divine.
2015 marked a resurgence of Hybarger’s music ministry after a 4 year absence. His single “You Are Here” written by Hybarger and SCOTT KRIPPAYNE (with BGV’s by Krippayne) climbed the charts on the Billboard, CMW and CRW Inspirational formats and peaked at #7.
The followup single, “The Purpose In The Pain” written by Matt & featuring harmonies by Krippayne reached #2 on the Inspirational Chart. Matt’s foray into Christian Country, a remake of the Eagles classic “Desperado” featuring lyrical tweaks by Hybarger, became his first #1 single.. �Matt’s 2018 remake of the Geoff Moore song, “Come As You Are” rose to #4 on the Christian Music charts. 2018 also marked Matt’s 5th annual “Summerpalooza Tour” across the US. Summerpalooza has visited over 120 cities in 32 states over the past 5 years. Hybarger also added several “Christmas In July” events to help local churches and food banks jump start giving during typically slow summer months. Finally, Matt joined with Grammy winner and CCM legend, Steve Archer for the “Grown Up Christmas Tour” which performed concert dates from California to Texas.
2018 featured two projects, “Previously Recorded” featuring all of Hybarger’s radio singles as well as 5 brand new arrangements of classic songs Matt “wishes HE had written”. And “Singer/Songwriter: My Best So Far” including only songs penned by Hybarger including the radio hits, “Run To His Arms”, “Never Alone”, “You Are Here”, The Purpose in the Pain and “When Life Gets Broken” along with the new Mother’s Day themed, “A Song for Mom”. 2019 includes plans for a brand new project featuring new songs from Hybarger including new collaborations with Scott Krippayne, Keith Parry and Wade Jackson as well as songs from other great writers like David Glenn, Billy Dean, Michael Peterson & Rob Cariddi. In addition, 2019 marks the 10th Anniversary of the release of WHEN LIFE GETS BROKEN. To commemorate the date, Matt will be releasing NEW versions of songs he wrote for the CD that were sung by other artists. Hybarger’s songs are also streamed in 46 countries around the world on Spotify, Apple Music, iHeart Radio and others. All Matt’s concerts are LOVE OFFERING events with only a very small travel deposit to secure the date.
