Joseph Mark

Joseph Mark Photography are an award winning husband and wife photography team who love to photograph weddings together. Their style can best be described as both documentary and editorial; they strive to tell stories that are authentic and capture portraits that are unique and beautiful. Every wedding is full of sweet and amazing moments, wonderful families and endless opportunities to create a visual record that will endure well beyond even the years they are given… and that is why they love what they do.
They are primarily Dallas wedding photographers but they do love to travel and have photographed weddings everywhere from the Amalfi coast of Italy to the beaches of Maui so if you’re having a wedding out of town they would love to talk to you about it! Outside of unique and memorable images their single greatest hope and responsibility is to provide all of their clients outstanding customer service. They work very hard to make sure all of their couples have a fun, and drama free experience with them.
They will always be available to you for consultation and they work hard on the wedding day to be efficient, creative and to always be in the right place at the right time. Their studio is located in the historic Southside On Lamar Building at 1409 S. Lamar St. #235, Dallas TX 75215. They do have a great space for studio sessions and some awesome views from their rooftop overlooking the Dallas skyline but they are by no means limited to that location.
They are happy to photograph anywhere you want to go. If you need help with ideas for a location to photograph your session just let they know and they’ll show you examples of the dozens of places they love to shoot. She used to be one of those people who would tell you she loved to travel but hadn’t really been anywhere but in the time they’ve been together they’ve covered everywhere from Italy to Hawaii for weddings and true to her word it’s one of her favorite things in life. They both love food and they’ll eat cheap every meal of a trip just to have one really fancy dinner. Her favorite restaurant is one they literally stumbled upon while in San Francisco called Citizen Cake… ask her to tell you about that dinner and watch her eyes light up. He loves coffee, photography, technology, all things fine art and he’ll tell you anything you want to know over a scotch and a really nice cigar. She loves all things dark chocolate… at Christmas she turns into a full-fledged candy maker and everything from pretzels to Oreos are coated in the stuff to give away in her famous holiday boxes.
If you need to lift her spirits Dark Chocolate M&M’s are a must. He has wanderlust for all of America’s national parks, he’s been to dozens and it’s a lifetime project to photograph all of them with his dad. Last year they spent a week camping in Arches N.P. and he really got a dose of what astrophotography is all about and since then he’s even found a way to let that seep into his portraits. To tell the truth though the trips are mostly about disconnecting from the world and spending time with his dad. To understand their wedding style is to know that one their foremost goals is that they do not want to be a spectacle, he would rather wear a hole in the knee of his suit than stand in front of your guests during important moments of the day. They strive always to be gracious, adaptable and fun.
A lot of their style is about capturing real moments and that can only really happen when you forget about their presence.
They remember a wedding not long ago at a reception where a grandmother quietly gave her granddaughter a letter and a gift of a string of pearls that had been passed down generations. They spent a minute together reading, crying and embracing it was a perfect moment he knew they both would love.
When they were just about to part he saw the bride start to look for him wanting a picture with her grandmother, she had no idea he had been with her the entire time and that is honestly what you live for as a photographer. Another thing you should probably know is that his wife is a night owl and will likely be emailing late into the night, she can’t really rest if she thinks anyone is in need of information.
They are compulsive about responsiveness and we know that great customer service is the best way to earn your referral. Just don’t be surprised if your phone beeps at one o’clock in the morning.
