Autumn BarrAutumn grew up in the hill country of Texas and played her first music gig at 9 years old. Because of her love of the stage and performing she went on to develop her acting and dancing skills to appear on national commercials for McDonald’s, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, Black Eyed Pea and Target both as an actress and voice-over talent. She danced on the MTV Music Awards and went on to choreograph several national TV commercials.
She competed as a teen vocalist on the Ed McMahon hosted international hit show Star Search where she won six weeks in a row to become a semi-finalist. Only dabbling in modeling led her to a 6 page feature article in HAIR magazine and she was a staple model at the Dallas Apparel Mart starting in her early teenage years.
Holding her own as a triple threat in singing, acting and dancing she was chosen out of tens of thousands people to be a finalist (but not chosen) for the new Mickey Mouse Club where she held rank with Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. With her powerhouse voice, Autumn was asked to act as a Goodwill Ambassador from the USA and toured Russia (then USSR) and Denmark performing in notable venues like Gorky Park and The Red Square. She acted in numerous films and landed a principal role in Richard Linklater’s cult film Dazed & Confused playing the role of Stacy which eventually led her to leave Texas to pursue her acting career in LA. Even though Hollywood came knocking, Autumn’s heart would remain in music. At age 21 she signed a development deal with a major Nashville label– but growing up listening to Janis Joplin, The Allman Brothers and The Rolling Stones, she craved a music scene edgier than Nashville could offer at that time. Blues and rock & roll had her heart and she has been cultivating her dynamic soulful sound and creating quite a following with her own band based out of Dallas for a number years. Autumn’s dynamic voiceAutumn Barr and stage presence has led her to open up for artists from Ray Charles to Grand Funk Railroad to Delbert McClinton. As of 2018, Autumn resides in Fort Worth, Dallas & Austin, Texas spreading love and music. She has just written a new solo album and will be recording in March. Autumn states, “I’ve gone back to my roots and my love of Texas Rock. This next album embraces my awakening of my authentic self and music. Growing up so close to Austin I was very enamored with the Austin blues rock scene and I hope this album is a little bit of a reflection to the impact it had on my life and music.”
