I am a Cleveland based artist, photographer, college professor, curator, and musician. In addition to drawing, printmaking, and camera-less photo making, my work also ranges from editorial and commercial photography to a fine art practice in representational photography. Although I come from a family of professional and amateur photographers, drawing and painting was my first passion. I attended the Cleveland Institute of Art where I studied drawing, printmaking, video, and photography.
My art straddles the worlds of photography and drawing, incorporating photograms and expanding those ideas into ink and paper. I also maintain one of the last professional black & white darkrooms in the Cleveland area, where I process and print my own work, as well as the work of other professionals. From 2008 until 2018 I was the owner and curator of Silver Scuro Studio and Gallery (formerly Mastroianni Arts), a gallery and studio space, where I exhibited the work of area artists and other arts related events.
My original photographs are included in many private and corporate collections, including the Cleveland Clinic. I have exhibited my work in more than twenty five solo and group shows, and have curated dozens of exhibits in my own gallery, in addition to serving on many exhibition juries.
