Rising singer/songwriter Lara Bell began performing a professional music career since the summer of 2015. Since then, she has played over 100 live shows between the Chicagoland and Southern WI area at venues such as county fairs, art fairs, wine bars, and coffee shops. Her voice and sound are applauded by many and she is seen taking on the music scene.
A glowing songstress, Lara’s genre is considered a mix of indie folk and country. Having written over 150 songs, she has found the key to her heart. Raining with innocence, Lara brings a freshness to the music industry with her romantic honesty. Her songs are story filled and simple with lots of metaphors and dreams.
Her genre diversity captures the crowd’s attention. Able to adapt to many styles, audience members have compared Lara’s style to Jewel, Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bob Dylan, all with an underlying of heartfelt country roots. She has been working in the studio recording her lyrical songs with engineer Ken Pedraza, as well as editing and producing music videos for the internet. An album is in store for the near future. Her music is currently viewable on YouTube (Acoustic Lara) where, in 2013, Lara found herself gaining quite a following – now having almost 6K subscribers. Her first single “Rubik’s Cube” (“jazzy” and “catchy” from audience members) will be released soon to iTunes, Spotify, etc. with a music video to go with it on the video site. Her bittersweet breakup song “What If” with a rememberable chorus was told by a crowd member to “never let it go”, and lyrical ukulele tune “6 More Months” is “a perfect mix of melodic sadness still held with hope”. 2018 holds in store plans for travel to music city, recording music, and performing at venues all around the Chicagoland area.
