Since no two weddings are the same, Emilia has customized her photography for your experience. Whether you’re eloping abroad or filling a ballroom with friends and family, you are creating your new traditional together. Intimate weddings have a special place in her heart, as Emilia and her husband had only 13 guests at theirs (and she made her own cake!). She strives to bring that feeling to every event she photographs.
Emilia started this business when she was twenty-two. She was two years out of school and absolutely miserable in an eight to five job. She stuck with that job through her first forty weddings (over her first two wedding seasons) and when she’d booked thirty for the third year, she gave her notice. That was 2013, and now here we are: over 150 couples photographed in Chicago, New York, Paris, Italy, London, South Africa, Bermuda, California, Texas, the Midwest… and she absolutely loves what she does. If that doesn’t call for champagne (a ‘96 Taittinger, perhaps?), she doesn’t know what does. Emilia and her husband Wil both grew up traveling internationally, so, unsurprisingly, they do so now as well. They both travel for work; he spends three days a week in New York every week and she tries to join him at least one week a month. Outside of the US, she accepts a few destination commissions a year and loves to leave enough time on the calendar for their leisure trips too. They’ve enjoyed Greece, Guatemala, Morocco, Austria, Amsterdam, Dubai, Germany, Paris, London, Switzerland, South Africa, Bermuda. They can’t wait to get back to Austria and South Africa. Australia is at the top of his “next” list and Venice is at the top of hers.
One of Emilia’s favorite things about travel weddings is all of the time they get to spend with the families! There’s something extra special about being able to photograph the whole wedding week or weekend’s events.
