I try to make pieces that are very wearable but still have a good design element and interest. I hope they’ll become your favorite piece. I love clean lines and a bit of an odd shape. I don’t want to do anything ornate and I often try to see how minimal I can make something. I am a jewelry designer and metalsmith from Chicago, Illinois with a focus on modern, minimalist metal work. I have always been a maker and jewelry has always been my favorite thing make. I have gone through a few incarnations of my line, from beaded work to chain and wire work and now to fabricating in metal. I love that there are so many facets to explore and techniques to learn. Its definitely dynamic and challenging.
This has been my full time work since 2005 when my line of beaded jewelry was picked up by Nordstrom. I’m a mom of two beautiful daughters, Tallulah and Imogene, and business is now on a smaller scale, but it is just as enjoyable. I think it’s awesome to be able to make something from scratch. Just seeing that you can accomplish that and potentially earn income on something you’ve made is very empowering. I want my girls to feel they can do anything they set their minds to. I work with sterling silver, gold fill and rose gold fill predominately, and I love to play with oxidizing sterling for ombre effects.
