From his very first NASCAR race in Richmond, VA at the age of 7 years, this Hopewell, VA native has been spellbound by the thrill and excitement of Stock Car racing ever since. After launching his career in 1981, Sam Bass has never lost sight of this enthusiasm and has been at the heart of NASCAR ever since, marking his place in history as The First Officially Licensed Artist of NASCAR. Eager to apply his artistic talents to the sport that captivated him from his very first green flag, Sam hit the ground running, developing a career that he could have only dreamed of. Thirty-six years later, his raw talent and knowledge of the sport has developed into an internationally – recognized career. The artist is best known for his fine art paintings and illustrations which capture drivers along their career mile stones, his creative race car paint schemes for many of NASCAR’s top teams, his original-design custom trophy guitars presented as awards and played by chart-topping artists in country and rock, and for continuing to truly ignite the fire for racing in NASCAR fans worldwide. While Sam may be recognized by millions for his many accomplishments, it is undeniable that he has such a heart for both his work and for the fans.
