MARY PAGE BLOCK is well known as a performer, teacher, composer, arranger and business woman. She established Arioso Strings Inc. in the Raleigh NC area to meet the growing need for quality classical event music in the Triangle. Mary’s years of experience have allowed her to bring together some of the area’s best professional musicians to make your special occasion elegant, beautiful and unique.
Arioso Strings Inc. is experienced with the musical coordination of more than 1000 weddings and events from large formal productions to small casual gatherings of a few friends. We not only have an extensive library of music repertoire, but have also created a unique system of organization that allows our musicians to focus fully on their performance. Arioso String’s on-line music sample collection is one of the largest in the country, so that clients can easily hear and understand their musical options. The quality of the samples allows one to truly experience the musicians beforehand and to easily choose their ideal music.
As president, Mary greatly enjoys working with couples to create an elegant atmosphere for one of the most important times of their lives. Her knowledge, experience and organization make the planning process for this portion of the wedding stress-free and wonderful! After completing her undergraduate studies in Violin Performance at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, Mary moved to Raleigh in 1986 and began performing and teaching in the area. She has played at the North Carolina Museum of Art for their series “Rembrandt to Rubens”, and has freelanced for the North Carolina Symphony, the NC Theater and many other professional groups in the area. In addition, she was a founding member, performer and composer with the Celtic music group Bragh Adair. They released two successful CDs and performed for sell-out crowds at Meymandi Concert Hall, Regency Amphitheater and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. In addition to her work with Arioso Strings, Mary teaches private violin lessons to students at her studio, the Arioso Violin Studio, which she began in 1987.
