We have recruited the highest caliber of professional and award winning musicians for your special day, all of whom have been members of various Symphony Orchestras. We also provide duets, string trios and quartets for your wedding or special event in Charleston, SC and beyond.
Monica is the Owner of The Wedding Violinist and has been playing the violin for over 25 years. She was formally trained by Geoffrey Applegate, famous performer, music minus one recording artist, and principle violinist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Growing up, she was principle violinist of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and first violinist in the Oakland Youth Symphony Orchestra. At age 13, she was awarded Honors Recital Soloist at Western Michigan University Summer Camp and performed Winter from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. She was awarded the Disciples for Christ Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Madonna University. She went on to become a music teacher and worked at several academies of music teaching both traditional and Suzuki methods to students ages 3 years old and up. During her tenure as Middle School Music and Drama Teacher at Pinecrest Academy, she developed a comprehensive middle school music curriculum, which included the basics of keyboarding, composition, music history, and music theory. As the Director of Advancement for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, she worked alongside the Director of Education to develop and institute several key youth educational outreach programs, which are now being taught to over 15,000 students each year throughout the Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester county school districts. She has served on the worship team as a Violinist and Vocalist at Vertical Church. Since 2009, she has owned and operated, performing as both a soloist and leader of the string quartet.
Stephanie is a regular guest musician with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and plays for numerous weddings and events. Stephanie is also a violin teacher, and has a large private studio. Stephanie taught Orchestra for 5 years for Charleston County School District and held the position of Education Coordinator for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. Stephanie received a Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2012, and Bachelors Degrees in Instrumental Music Education and Violin Performance from Florida State University in 2009. While attending graduate school, Stephanie served on the faculty of The Music Academy of North Carolina Greensboro, performed as the Concertmaster of the University Symphony Orchestra, was a member of the Graduate String Quartet, and the Gate City Camerata. Stephanie has performed with many Orchestras including the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.
