Chapter Five began many years ago when a couple of young boys learned their first rock-and-roll song on a used guitar and garbage can lid. The original band was composed of four young men, ranging from ages 12-14. They all grew up together living within three miles of each other in the small town of Graysville, Alabama. The guys added more songs to their playlist and quickly became well known throughout the area. They spent most of their free time playing at proms, teen clubs, and fraternity parties, and relied on their drummer’s mother for transportation, since none of them were old enough to drive. They played all over the state in many high schools and universities including The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, Birmingham Southern College, Auburn University, and Jacksonville State College. Competing several times and even winning The Battle of the Bands was a big accomplishment for the group but opening for Bob Seger is one of their favorite highlights. The band still has three of the four original founding members including Charlie Norris, vocalist and guitarist, John Morgan, vocalist and bass player, and Dr. Randy Yarbrough, drummer. And keyboard artist, Debbie Morgan joined the group a several years ago. All band members still live in the metro Birmingham, AL area, and the group currently performs at various community events, private parties, class reunions, and weddings. Chapter Five has over 200 songs on their current playlist from artists such as The Beatles, The Temptations, Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, The Monkees, CCR, Johnny Rivers, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Orbison and many more.
