Durante Verzola

Durante VerzolaDurante Verzola’s first choreographic work, “A Light Exists in Spring”, was chosen by Lourdes Lopez to be performed in Miami City Ballet School’s 2014 Workshop. Since then, he has choreographed several works for Pennsylvania Ballet II, School of Pennsylvania Ballet, Kansas School of Classical Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet & MANNA’s Shut Up & Dance, the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, at the invitation of Barbara Weisberger, and for Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet for their ChoreoPlan 2017. Mr. Verzola was chosen to be Miami City Ballet School’s inaugural choreographer for their first Choreographic Intensive during the summer of 2017. He serves asDurante Verzola guest faculty at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Peabody Dance, Philadelphia Dance Academy, and Kansas School of Classical Ballet.
Durante Verzola is from Lansing, Kansas, and currently a dancer with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet. He began his training with Marisa Paull, and received his formal ballet training from the Kansas City Ballet School. He continued on at the Kansas School of Classical Ballet. At the age of 16, Mr. Verzola left home to train with the Miami City Ballet School under Carter Alexander and Geta Constantinescu with full scholarship. He performed several ballets with MCBS including, George Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante and Serenade. He has attended summer courses with scholarship at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Durante VerzolaNorthwest Ballet School, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. After the summer of 2014 spent with the School of Pennsylvania Ballet, he was invited to join Pennsylvania Ballet II. With Pennsylvania Ballet, Mr. Verzola performed in works by Balanchine, Robbins, Wheeldon, and Keigwin. He joined The Suzanne Farrell Ballet in 2016.
