Sarah Hartshorne is an oil painter who lives and works in Albuquerque, NM. She received an undergraduate degree in Music Performance from McGIll Univeristy in Montreal, and a Masters in Counseling from Webster University, Albuquerque Branch. She has studied studio art at the University of New Mexico, and has been painting full time since 2006. She has exhibited throughout the United States, and her work is held in private and public collections around the world. Sarah Hartshorne considers herself an Abstract Realist, using the structure of realism to explore the intricacies of color and shape, light and reflection, inspired by the daily life and the world around her. She works extensively with botanical themes, entering her subject matter telescopically to carry the viewer into what becomes an almost abstract encounter with the familiar.
