I am Marley Simmons, a 25 years old professional makeup artist. I have always had a passion for all things involving the fashion industry; makeup, photography, modeling, and the artistry that goes into it. Makeup has been a huge part of my life for several years. At age 18 I was a very busy high school senior (Drum Major, Student Council, Honors/AP Student) when I decided to graduate early and pursue my dreams. I moved to Amsterdam to attend The House of Orange Makeup School, a prestigious Professional Makeup Artist school deeply ingrained in the European fashion industry. I learned from the best! While in Amsterdam I also attended two Masterclasses at MAC Cosmetics, one taught by Senior Artist Elke Willemen.
My professional career in Amsterdam includes model test shoots with several agencies: Alpha Male Model Management, EuroModels, Fresh Model Management , Only Model Management and Skins. Makeup artist for fashion shows : Tong Tong Fair – Lula Lapis Fashion Show , House of Rising Fashion Show, Kunst Rai Fashion Show, Fashion For Life Fashion Show at the Fashion World Trade Center with designer Bas Kosters. Magazine publications : assisted Chiao Li Hsu at Erwin Olaf Studio Amsterdam for a spread in Dutch “ELLE” magazine August 2012 addition, assisted Chiao Li Hsu for spread in Amsterdam’s “de Bijenkorf” magazine coming Fall 2012, spread in online “Impostor Magazine” July 2012. Fashion photo shoots with the following photographers: Theo Haanberg, Frank Vos, Barbara Miezcko Germes, Marieke Gras, Marko Rijnsburger, Ruben Schuurhuis, Jessica Evans, Jorrit Pfeifer, and Stephen Elledge. I also had the amazing opportunity to work with 2012 Dutch “Up and Coming Hair Stylist” award
winner Bert Visser on a shoot for Alpha Male Models. Getting my education in Europe was such a great opportunity. I met and worked with such amazing and talented people in Amsterdam! Now I am ready to focus on my career here in the states. I have worked with amazing photographers, designers, agencies (DirectionsUSA, Marilyn’s Agency, Salt Models, Ursula Wiedmann Models) commercials (Marriott, Captiol One, Truly Spiked and Sparkling, Mavyret and William Murray Golf), tv sets (Mr. Mercedes, OBX and The Righteous Gemstones) and fashion shows including Charleston Fashion week and recently NYFW ss17, which has been my dream since I started doing makeup. I continually want to grow and evolve my career.
