Brendon Phelps

Brendon Phelps is an Akron, Ohio native. He holds a double masters from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) in cello performance and pedagogy under renowned pedagogue, Dr. Melissa Kraut. Brendon has played for great cellists and pedagogues such as: Zuill Bailey, Lynn Harrell, Andres Diaz, Hans Jorgen-Jensen and Jaap ter Linden. Mr. Phelps has also dabbled in historical performance, obtaining an Early Music Performance Certificate from Case Western Reserve University during his time at CIM, even participating in the 2015 Boston Early Music Festival. He participated in many workshops and festivals, both solo and with the Heimat Quartet throughout the Americas, Canada and Europe some being the Sitka Cello Seminar in Alaska, the International Mendelssohn Festival in Germany and Hvide Sande Masterclass in Denmark. Mr. Phelps is now pursuing an A.D. at Montclair State University under Nick Tzavaras and the Shanghai Quartet as part of the fellowship quartet-in-residence.
