Amanda McCarthy is a storyteller compelled to speak the truth. Blending many influences, her original music is the infusion of pop/country and pop/rock, sprinkled with millennial snark and the heart of an old soul. Her home base is in the heart of New England, equally present in both New Hampshire and the Boston area, touring when possible. Amanda’s original music has been recognized through nominations and awards from the the 59th Grammy Awards Nomination Ballot, Cornell University’s Emerging Artist Series (Award Recipient), NYC’s Coffee Music Project (Finalist), UK Songwriting Contest (Semi-Finalist), Nashville’s Josie Music Awards (Nominee), Hollywood Music in Media Awards (Nominee), and New England based award shows for the New England Music Awards, Worcester Music Awards, Limelight Music Magazine and the Southern New England Music Expo – most notably being named as Songwriter of the Year at the 2019 New England Music Awards.
Radio has been supportive as well with Boston airplay on The River 102.5, The Bull 101.7, WKLB 102.5, WATD 105.9, FRANK 106.3, NH’s 104.9, and others – including college and online radio, with her recent single “San Diego” hitting #1 on SheWolfRadio. She’s had the opportunity to perform as an opening act, support act or side-stage act for Hunter Hayes, Steven Tyler (of Aerosmith), Train, REO Speedwagon, Rob Thomas, Jason Isbell, Natasha Bedingfield, Frank Turner, Abby Anderson, Jason Lancaster (of Mayday Parade) and Hawthorne Heights, as well as a guest of NASCAR, Royal Caribbean, and a National Anthem performance on ESPN. Amanda is currently performing as an acoustic solo/duo act, as well as with her full band. She released her debut full-length album, “Road Trip” in June 2019.
