ot off the release of his new live studio album “God, Guns, and Firewater”. Native American singer-songwriter FORREST BALDWIN continues to push the boundaries of his musical repertoire. Cultivating the rugged sounds of blues, jazz, and pseudo psychedelic rock. The independent artist returns to the roots of his passion in writing, recording, and musicianship allowing his listeners an intimate look into his ever evolving growth as a songwriter and composer. Guitar strapped around his body like a soldier marching into war, BALDWIN fires off rounds of electric soul and flurries of lyrical content aimed directly toward the listeners heart and mind in songs like “Take Me to the Water” and “When I Met You” . Bob Dylan enthusiasts may be intrigued during the starting track “Best of Me” which reaches into the realm of Hendrix influenced watchtower-esque storytelling and guitar heroism. The live studio project is one of three concept EP’s that will be released sporadically and independently throughout the coming 2015 year, keep your ears to the underground and eyes to the sky for upcoming release information.
Departing from Berklee College of Music in 2009, Forrest set his sights on an independent music career. Releasing his first EP “Let Her Down” which gained local spotlight success on Television Broadcast WSLS 10 – NBC for songs “Let Her Down” and “Boston”. College buzz on WUVT-FM at Virginia Tech and local PBS show The Hour of Joy in Roanoke, VA. Allowed the artist to break into the state music scene leading to performances throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Locally gained exposure and a gypsy soul placed BALDWIN in the eyes of thousands during his Balcony TV spotlight in his new home base Charleston, SC. Following the performance FORREST performed alongside ten thousand runners during the Charleston Bridge Run in 2013 leading to a tour of the East Coast. A steady pace and endless passion for music continue to push the artist ahead as a self represented musician.
Performing throughout the lowlands of South Carolina, the singer/songwriter is a mainstay in the Charleston circuit serenading locals with acoustic showcases and rocking stages at Nationally renowned venues like The Pour House with his band Forrest Baldwin Trio (FB3). Setting the sights on a National Tour, the seasoned musician has been tirelessly at work writing new songs and preparing for the next step in his journey as an independent artist. The God, Guns, and Firewater Tour is set to begin in January 2015 hitting breweries, listening rooms, and concert halls on the East Coast. “It’s hard to forget a name like Forrest Baldwin, and its even harder to forget his musical magnificence, overly enthusiastic attitude, and well concocted songs” – Found Magazine 2013.
