Kiersten Werner Fair began taking piano lessons when she was four years old and continued well into her high school years. Her teacher was her mother, Mrs. Judy Werner. In the sixth grade Kiersten got her first flute and began taking lessons from Debbie Vogt in Broken Arrow, OK. Kiersten earned superior ratings in both flute and piano competitions, and performed with the Broken Arrow High School Wind Ensemble for four years.
Upon graduating high school in 2001, Kiersten attended Evangel University, earning a B.A. in music education. Her degree included both a vocal and instrumental teaching certification. She studied flute with Mr. Larry Bridges and presented a Junior and Senior Recital in flute. During college Kiersten studied piano with Dr. Greg Morris and also taught piano lessons privately, as well as flute lessons at the James River School of Music near Springfield, MO.
After her college graduation, Mrs. Fair taught Middle School and High School Choir at Mt. Vernon Middle School and High School in Mt. Vernon, MO for three years. During the following three years, she taught K-2 music at Mt. Vernon Elementary while also earning her graduate degree in Music (M.M. in Music, Music Education) from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Upon earning her degree she became an at-home mom for her newborn girl, Carissa, and moved back to Broken Arrow in August 2011. Mrs. Fair is now excited to be teaching piano and flute lessons in the Broken Arrow/Tulsa area.
