Blu Monsoon is one of the most sought after bands in Ohio averaging over 120 public performances per year at music venues, restaurants, wineries and special events such as The Tri-C and Wooster Jazz Fests. Additionally, they perform at private events such as weddings, country clubs, and corporate gatherings. They have over 850 Facebook followers and over 100 email newsletter subscribers.
107.3FM The Wave, commercial broadcast radio in Cleveland, has been playing their music for over a year. Blu Monsoon’s 2018 single, an upbeat version of “Low Tide,” made it to #1 on The Wave’s chart. The Smooth Jazz Network also featured the song across the country. Their 2019 follow-up, “You Know That’s Right” was on the Top Hits Chart for over 30 consecutive days.
Blu Monsoon was formed in 2012 with primary members Mike Schirch (keys, composer, producer), Jeff Jeric (bass) and Adam Hradisky (drums). They have 3 original CDs: At 21 and Daisy, Hot Tub Maintenance, and Three. Their contemporary jazz music is created to have broad appeal without being cliché. In addition to original material, they perform unique interpretations of classics such as: “The Chicken,” “Autumn Leaves,” “Chameleon,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” They also play arrangements of pop hits by diverse artists such as Sam Smith, Alicia Keyes, Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, and Ariana Grande.
