Pam Smith
I’m Chef Pam. I love to cook and I always have. I have not always known that I wanted to be a personal chef. In fact the personal chef concept wasn’t around when I was trying to decide what to do with myself. None the less, my education, my career and many pleasant hours spent in the kitchen have led me to become a personal chef, my dream job! In college I studied food science, and earned a BS and an MS in Food Science and Nutrition. For 20 years I worked in the food industry doing research and development. During that time I married, had a family, and learned first hand how difficult it is to balance career, family and time for myself. I completely understand the challenge my busy clients face as they try to plan, shop for, and prepare good, healthy food. Several years ago I left the hectic corporate world. Friends and family urged me to open a restaurant or bakery, but I didn’t want to jump into that stressful world. One day, while flipping through Bon Appetit, I read about the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA). Immediately I knew I had found my perfect job! I attended the United States Personal Chef Institute (now the Culinary Business Academy) and became a Premier Member of the USCPA.
Shortly after graduating I combined my expertise in the art and science of cooking to create Your Home Bistro Personal Chef Service and happily began cooking for clients throughout the St. Louis area. Soon I became a Certified Culinary Inspirations Instructor and expanded my business to include teaching In-Home Cooking Classes and conducting Interactive Dinner Parties. Recently I became the second personal chef in the St. Louis Metro area to earn my Certified Personal Chef credentials. Currently I am serving as the President of the St. Louis Chapter of the USPCA. I thoroughly enjoy cooking for my clients and look forward to the opportunity to cook for you!
