Kali Nelson
My whole life I have been fascinated by photography but it wasn’t until 2007 that I found my true passion for it. My husband, Derek asked me if I could have any hobby what would it be? Without hesitation I said “photography”. He went out and got me a camera and I started taking pictures of my nephews, family members and close friends. I found such happiness in being able to capture these little moments that I knew I wanted to make this a career change for me. In 2007 I started taking pictures as Kali’s Photography. In 2012, I changed the business name to Willow Photo.
I love capturing the moments in life and having pictures that take you back to a memory. I feel so blessed that people want me to be the one who gets to share that special time with them by taking pictures. Life happens so fast, but photography allows you to capture special moments and treasure them forever. I love shooting all types of events: weddings, engagement, family, kids, babies… I love it all! Being based out of Kansas City, Missouri is so wonderful because of all of the background options the city and suburbs offer.
In my free time, I love spending time with my husband Derek, our beautiful daughter Leona, son Warren and my family, I love cooking and baking (anything that involves chocolate), serving at my church Restore Community Church and spending with with sweet little orphans in Haiti with GO Project.
