Most love songs are created and inspired by real love and true emotions. I can attest to that. My new single is written and inspired by a beautiful woman of God. She was the reality of my dreams. A woman that was sent to make me whole, my fiancé Shaunia Edwards. This beautiful lady is now in the arms of God; she transitioned on February 2016. I can still hear the sweet sound of her inspiring words whispering in my ear, “Hey baby have a good day.” In celebration of our life, I have decided to dedicate my newest CD project, “Remembering You,” on Innervision Records, to our wonderful time together. Each song will reflect My new single, “Hey Baby” which is a funky kind of sassy track with a very happy vibe. Saxophonist Dezie McCullers Jr. highlights some key ensemble guitar/sax melodies, while the background musical landscape is painted with beautiful colors by Valdez Bradley’s keyboard arrangements. Listen very closely to the intro and you just might hear words of encouragement! “Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor of the Lord.” Hold on to the ones you love, treat them the way you would treat yourself knowing that tomorrow is promised. As one of the world’s best kept secrets, Guitarist, Songwriter, Arranger, Producer & Vocalist dee Brown is definitely one for whom you will take notice! He demonstrates a sense of character that comes from deep spirituality and presents a musical entrée that is appetizing and sweet. His single, “Honeycomb” from his album, “Brown Sugar, Honey-Coated Love” debuting on Innervision Records is a tasty treat for jazz lovers. Foundationally inspired by Proverbs 27:7 which says, “A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” dee offers satisfying music that is so often missing from today’s musical landscape. His second single “Natural Love” received lots of radio air play with multiple chart positioning with a solid spot in the top 15 on the Groove Jazz chart. His third single, I’m Here for you (I’ll never leave you) was well received and is in the top 100 Smooth Jazz single of 2015. If that’s not enough, he ended 2015 on a high note by releasing an original Christmas song, entitled “It’s Christmas” written and performed by his fiancé’ Shaunia Edwards, Valdez Brantley and dee Brown.
You will experience from dee’s music an intertwining of mesmerizing melodies with groovy, addictive, high-energy beats featuring saxophone, guitar and vocals. dee’s unique blend and style is an illumination of his being a non-stagnant music lover. It also unveils a stage in which the melody and harmony dance together, presenting a musical poetry-in-motion. And it underlies a deep spiritual connection, providing a foundation of personal touch enriched with heavenly appeal. Possessing a solid musical background, dee has performed with artists such as: Al Jarreau, Gerald Albright, Alexander Zonjic, Bob Baldwin, Mindi Abair, Jessy J, Paul Brown, Paul Taylor, Darren Rahn, Tim Bowman, Randy Scott, Gail Jhonson, Nate Harasim, Bob James, Brian Culbertson, Spyro Gyra, The Ohio Players, Najee, Jeffery Osborne, Aretha Franklin, Michael and BeBe Winans, just to name a few. In 2007, he released his first single, “Reunited,” from his solo project, “No Time To Waste,” which charted in the top 100 on Smooth Jazz.Com. Brown is also known for his invigorating single, “True Reality” from his second album. “A Little ElbowRoom” which was co-written by Brown, Nate Harasim, Dezie McCullers Jr. and features Darren Rahn on sax. “A Little Elbow Room” was inspired by his late father, George (Sonny) Brown. dee dedicated the release as a tribute to the man who was responsible for his emergence into the music industry. “If it wasn’t for my dad introducing me to jazz, “I would never have found my true love and passion,” says dee. Brown is a multi-talented phenomenon and is highly sought after. He is firmly committed to his craft and is definitely taking his vision and music to the top.
