I live in my favorite neighborhood in Nashville, Historic Germantown, with my studly husband of 10 years and our 17-pound cat, and I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to do what she loves for a living.
My first time to pick up a real camera was in 2006, when I was working as a reporter at a local magazine. My love of photography grew from there, and my style tends to hail back to that editorial feel.
I started shooting weddings because, first, it sounded like a lot of fun, but also because I adore marriage. I believe in two people committing to each other, no matter what comes, and I believe in the joys of walking through life with another person who knows the best, worst and most intimate and ambitious details of your life. There’s such peace in knowing that, while it’s forever a work in progress, you’ll always be there for each other. More than once I’ve had a guest stop me and tell me “You just look like you really love what you do.” I hadn’t sat down at that point in six hours, and he was exactly right.
As your Nashville wedding photographer, I try to be a 5’0″ combination of easy going and organized, fun and professional, creative and detail-oriented. I love my couples and getting to know them to the point that they’re friends by the time their wedding rolls around. I laugh with my clients a lot, and there’s about a 70% chance I’ll tear up at some point during your ceremony, too.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me at Steadfast Coffee, Ethos Church, exploring our neighborhood, or in the woods somewhere with my husband. I’m mostly nocturnal, I use way too many emojis, and so much of me can be summarized by saying I’m a classic ESFP, for better and worse. If I were Julie Andrews, I’d be singing songs about snow, tacos, coffee, pretty light, my Redeemer, mountains, cats, yoga, journaling, and my husband.
