I am a painter and teacher living in Lakeland, Tennessee. I was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and lived in Milford until I was six. My family moved around the northeast from Milford to Horseheads, NY to Woodbury, NJ to Doylestown, PA and to Brookfield, CT when I was a senior in high school. I went to college for a year at Widener College (now University) in Chester, PA and then transferred back to UConn at Storrs where I earned my BFA. I met my wife, Susie at UConn. I moved to Bowling Green, Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University where I earned my MFA. During graduate school, Susie and I married. After a few years of adjunct teaching in Bowling Green, a sabbatical replacement position at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and a one-year position at Memphis College of Art, I was hired full-time at MCA in 1988. I left MCA in 2017 and have been teaching in Shelby County Schools in Memphis since then.
