Elisa Stewart

Elisa Stewart is a relative newcomer to the world of art conservation and restoration. She first received a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo in 1995. After working as an Art Director for a sports magazine, she decided to pursue a career in Fine Art photography. Then in 2009, Elisa went abroad to study art restoration with a concentration in painting, under the direction of Roberta Lapucci, at Studio Art Centers International. While in Italy, she assisted Nenad Jovanovic in his private restoration studio, working on book and paper artifacts dating back to the
16th-18th century. With over 300 applied practical hours in conservation and restoration of archaeological objects and paintings, Elisa started her own practice in San Jose, California. With use of technological application (HDR and RTI Imaging), she also focuses on cultural heritage artifact preservation. As an AIC member, Board Member and Web Presence Coordinator for the Bay Area Art Conservation Guild of San Francisco, she organized a Modular Cleaning Workshop hosted at Stanford University in 2016. With a growing practice, Elisa continues to work in preserving both keepsakes and historical pieces.
