My name is Christopher Charles Romero aka “Romero.” I’m an actor, artist , singer songwriter & multi instrumentalist, writer,director, producer & radio personality. I’m a Colorado native born in Denver & raised in Brighton, Colorado. I recently finished recording my debut solo album, ” Rocknrolla” at River Rock Studios in Minneapolis with producers Eric Blomquist ( Soul Asylum) and Ian Combs ( 3 Pill Morning ) Pre production was done at my home studio with producer / musician Tim High . The CD marks the first time I wrote , produced & played a majority of the instruments by myself, with the exception of a few special guests. The album was released on my own imprint CYR Records, Inc. in June of 2017. I had the honor of collaborating with legendary guitarist George Lynch ( Dokken, Lynch Mob, KXM) & producer Chris Collier ( KXM, Lynch Mob,Prong, Korn ) on the original song, ” Phoenix Rising”. My second single, a southern rock ballad, ” Goodbye ” crossed over to country radio. The song hit #3 on the Top 6 countdown, this garnered me a nomination for best new artist on the Big 97.9 & Iheart radio awards in the fall of 2017. ” Rocknrolla “will be relaunched in 2019 with a limited edition vinyl release. My debut solo album is a mix of classic hard rock, modern hard rock, acoustic singer songwriter & alt- country. Drawing from childhood influences such as KISS, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, STP, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Bon Jovi & Tesla as well as newer artists like Butch Walker, Rival sons, Chris Stapleton, Black Stone Cherry Blackberry Smoke & Ryan Adams. The album, ” Rocknrolla” takes the listener on a musical journey filled with tasty guitar licks, melodic vocals & heartfelt lyrics. As an actor I’ve appeared in Rob Zombie’s “Halloween 2? , “Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead” w/ Andy Garcia & Christopher Walken,” Vault” with Don Johnson, Theo Rossi, & Chaz Palminteri, ” Sicario 2″ with Benicio Del Toro . I love horror films, & rock n roll. In addition to the music & acting I write & score for TV & film. Some of my music has been on A & E’s “Duck Dynasty” . I also scored the entire indie/grindhouse film ” Killer Ink”. The film stars myself, Digger T.Mesch, Gregg” Uncle Nasty” Stone & Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca from Star Wars). ” Killer Ink” is now out on DVD and other media outlets including ITunes, Amazon, Target, Best Buy & Walmart . My song ” Phoenix Rising” appears in the Lionsgate horror film , ” The Manor”, the film stars Kevin Nash & Godsmack’s Sully Erna. I recently finished up my first screenplay/script for the indie horror film. ” Choppers Of The Dead” that I will direct,star, produce & score. Production is set to begin in 2019.
I have been very blessed to have been able to perform with some of the biggest names in rock & roll, having shared the stage with artists including Dwight Yoakam, Bush, Joan Jett , Simo, Shamans Harvest, Trapt ,Five Finger Death Punch ,Alice Cooper, Ratt, Warrant, Whitesnake, King’s X, Lynch Mob , Dokken, Rob Zombie, Winger, 30 Second To Mars, Tremonti, The Winery Dogs, Cinderella, Staind, Living Colour, Tesla, Three Days Grace, Skid Row, Poison, Bret Michaels, Vince Neil, Drowning Pool, Mr. Big, John Corabi, Night Ranger, Deftones, Buckcherry , Steel Panther, Papa Roach & Megadeth just to name a few. The summer of 2016 also saw the live debut of my original solo band ,ROMERO. We had the privilege of opening for , Black Stone Cherry, & 3 Doors Down and we performed at the first annual Texas
Mutiny Festival featuring Avenged Sevenfold, GHOST, Deftones, Chevelle, Candlebox, Hellyeah, & more… My current and former bands, have received airplay on the following stations KNAC, 92.9 The Bear. Smokin’ 94.1, Big 97.9, KBPI, KILO. KBER, KMAX, KTCL, THE FOX, 99.5 THE MOUNTAIN, 107 X, 94.3 Loudwire, XM RADIO ,97.5 Bob FM, KOA,Q-95, KLOS & KOMP. I’m currently endorsed by ESP guitars & Wang’s Amplifiers. I’m happily married to the amazing Charlotte Romero ( 27 years) together we have 4 beautiful kids, Eric ( Stephanie) ,Brittany ( Berks, Sebastian , Lauren ( Chad)& two beautiful granddaughters and one grandson. Family is everything to me. In addition to music & film I’m an abstract artist . Im also involved in several charity events & fundraisers.I own my own authentic homemade salsa brand, “Romero’s Rockin’ Salsa”, a mens/womens t-shirt line & an independent record label, CYR Records,Inc.
