Bryce R. VanHoosen

Portland, OR native Bryce R. VanHoosen started playing guitar 15 years ago – around the same time he started his first punk band, ‘Vicio.’ He grew up in Oregon City. His early guitar heroes were – and still are – Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Jason Becker, Michael Schenker, and Andy LaRocque. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Washington State University Vancouver in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Technology & Culture. Soon after he embarked on a 5 week backpacking trip through Scandinavia looking at Viking Age rune stones, churches, ships, and art. He (finally) returned to Europe again in 2015, this time to tour and play a festival with the band SPELLCASTER. He still lives in Portland, OR with his beautiful wife Meiko. They are both vegetarians who enjoy traveling, fine dining, and spending time at home. He divides between performing with musical acts SPELLCASTER and LUCIFER’S CHILD (King Diamond/Mercyful Fate tribute), pouring over books on guitar & music theory. He of course finds time to practice guitar every single day.
