Terrance Shepherd is a passionate solo pianist who loves to blend various genres from classical, jazz to contemporary music. His desire is to create a lush sound of harmonious melodies with the music he creates. The Jamaica Queens, NYC & Charlotte, NC raised pianist determined at a young age while in Charlotte to make music his career of choice. Terrance was accepted into Northwest School of The Arts where he declared a double major in Music and Dance. At 14 yrs. old, Terrance had become a self-taught pianist, primarily ear training, sight reading, rhythm and improvisation. By age 18 he entered Central Piedmont Community College where he majored in music performance.There he honed his skills in Applied Music and Music Theory courses in pursuit of his Associates in Fine Arts Degree.
Terrance continues to pay his dues to become not only a fine pianist but keyboardist for his pleasure as well as for others along his 10+ year career. He has trained with Randy Jones and Tom Constanten, an American keyboardist for the band Grateful Dead. He also spent four years professionally under the teachings of music professors Brenda Goldfaden, Christopher Meister and Roxanne Holt- Watson at Central Piedmont Community College. Shepherd is currently finishing up his last year at Queens University of Charlotte College, where he will soon obtain a Bachelor’s in Music and continue in graduate school for Musicology at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland.
