Dominique Moreno

From Houston Texas, Dominique Moreno now resides in New York City currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music where she studies with Metropolitan Opera harpist Susan Jolles. She began musical studies with the piano at four years old, learned violin when she was nine and began learning harp at age ten with renowned harpist Emily Mitchell. Dominique attended Ruth Faber’s Harp Course for five years studying with London’s prestigious harpists including Ruth Faber, Keziah Thomas, Eleanor Turner, Eluned Pierce, Camilla Pay and Rachel Masters. As an orchestral musician, Dominique has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jones Hall, Stude Concert Hall at Rice University, Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park and has recorded in Avatar Studios. As a soloist, she won 1st prize in the Mildred Milligan Harp Competition in 2014. In 2014-2016 she was Principal Harpist for the Houston Youth Symphony. She had the Principal Harp position for the TMEA All Region Orchestra for seven consecutive years and for TMEA All State Orchestras for three years. In the fall of 2015, she was ranked first in the state of Texas performing Principal Harpist with the All-State Symphony Orchestra. In fall 2016, she was a guest harpist for the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Joshua Gersen. She has also received instruction from Nancy Allen, Mariko Anraku, Delaine Fedson Leonard, Anneleen Lenaerts, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Judy Loman, and Paula Page.
