CROWD CONTROLOL (pronounced crowd control) is the main recording and performance identity for Anthony Salce, a Florida-based music producer, DJ, and sound designer who’s established a purpose to create something remarkably fresh in the electronic music world. By merging two decades of classical training on the violin with the present day’s forces of house and techno, his take on dance music is stimulated by years of melodic training and a mature understanding of rhythm, and its effects on the mind and body. His interpretation ranges from warm connotations of dancefloor driven tech house, to sonic experiments in deeper, minimal techno. Less than a year into producing electronically, Crowd Controlol’s debut EP “Lolwut” was signed with Club Traxx in 2011, quickly earning plays from top performers around the globe such as Nicole Moudaber and Stefano Noferini, putting him on the map in the industry for DJ’s and producers worldwide. In the years since, his productions have been continuously well received, with original music on record labels like Innocent Music, Baile Musik White, Draft LTD, Patent Skillz, SK Supreme Records, Ritmik Records, and Beatdown Music, to name a few. Crowd Controlol left an early mark on the city of Miami during his first residency in 2012 at a bimonthly party known as “One Night in Miami”, with an afterhours sunrise set held early Saturday mornings on The Terrace at Club Space. Known for notoriously bouncy, yet dark and provocative DJ sets, Salce inspired a new generation of underground music advocates to appreciate the more intricate and sophisticated elements of electronic music. His sets created a greater appreciation for four-on-the-floor rhythm in South Florida, encouraging the musical tastes of his peers to steer away from streamlined commercialism and appreciate the innovative qualities of house and techno.
Beginning his travels to Ibiza, Spain in the summer of 2013 and joining forces with Richie Hawtin and the ENTER. team in Public Relations, Anthony continued to develop his sound as Crowd Controlol while maintaining a forward thinking approach to artistry. Working a total of 3 seasons with ENTER on the island, his working relationship with Hawtin evolved beyond Ibiza and resulted in an invitation to be part of the CNTRL 2.0 tour in 2015, an educational initiative which sprung throughout college campuses in North America with artists like Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Matador, Victor Calderone, and more. Upon forging valuable relationships and discovering a world of new music, this experience has become an integral part of his development as an artist. In 2016, Crowd Controlol played major gigs in Playa del Carmen, Medellin, Denver, and Orlando, with regular appearances in Miami and South Florida. He also experienced his biggest season in Ibiza to date, performing at the world renowned Space Ibiza in its final season with Carl Cox, as well as twice at the famous Sankey’s Ibiza. Additionally, he’s performed at Eden Nightclub, Veto Social Club, Sunset Ashram, various boat parties, and the highly accliamed Pacha Ibiza in 2014. More committed than ever to a focused development of his sound with ambitious production and unique live performances, Crowd Controlol commands an upbeat and hypnotizing dancefloor experience, as his music emerges on imprints around the world.
