Talia Whatcott Growing up, I had a little bit of a tomboy personality. In spite of this, I loved getting dressed up and looking pretty! I have always been an artist and musician. I’m one of those creative types. I have played the violin my whole life and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance. I made my living playing the fiddle for country bands for many years and got to know some of the ins and outs of the music business. I love animals and grew my own little herd of goats, plus a couple of horses and about 20 chickens. After college I decided to pursue the exciting life of a rodeo queen, and competed in several rodeo queen pageants.
I won First Runner Up in the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant and served as Miss Lehi Roundup First Attendant and Miss Rodeo Ogden Second Attendant. While I was a rodeo queen, my talent for makeup artistry flourished. I learned how to do pageant and stage makeup, and got a lot of practice creating that rodeo queen hair! I married my amazing husband Cody in 2014 and fell in love with theTalia Whatcott wedding industry. I planned and designed our wedding and did my own hair and makeup. I absolutely loved working with wedding professionals and was fascinated with everything from the photography to the flowers! I decided then and there that, one day, I would be a part of that industry.
After working as a kindergarten teacher for several years, I realized that I would not feel fulfilled unless I was creating art. I am truly happiest when I’m using my hands and my creativity. I became a certified makeup artist through Taylor Andrews Academy and I’m now a working professional makeup artist. I do makeup for everyone, from brides to bloggers, and pageants to editorial shoots. I’m ecstatic to be able to say I LOVE WHAT I DO!
